HOW TO REGISTER (links below)
We are using the same online registration system as last year for CATE 2020 Convention (managed by eventPower). Registration for the convention includes access to super sessions, workshops, major speakers, and the exhibit hall. Meal events are extra (or part of package registrations). We hope online registration will make it easier for you to:
- verify your own registration
- register as a group
- order extra (guest) meals
NEW: The first screen will ask for your email address. This does NOT check your membership status; rather, we can email you a link to your pending registration if you already started the process. This is meant to streamline your registration experience and reduce the potential for duplicate registrations.
Group Registration: If your school is sending multiple registrants, use this feature. You can set up a “point person” for initiating the group registration (this could be a school finance clerk or a lead teacher). The point person sets up the group payment, then can send a link to the rest of the group to enter their registrations.
Purchase Orders: If you are paying by PO, upload your PO during registration. If you don’t have it on hand, you may return to your attendee portal and upload it when you have it. If your PO is NOT in the system or remains “Pending” when Convention begins, you will need to resolve this with your school or district upon check-in.
Meals: If your school or district administrator registered you as part of a group, you should log into your attendee portal to select meal restrictions as needed.
Rate Increase: Register by February 1 for the best rates. After February 1, registrations will still be accepted online as well as onsite at the Los Angeles Marriott at the higher price. Every registration type price increases by $20 after Feb. 1.
CATE members: You get a $50 discount on registration, but you’ll need your membership #. You can find your CATE membership # and expiration date on your mailing label on the CATE 2020 Convention flyer, or on your mailing label on an issue of California English; If you can’t find your CATE membership number, you can e-mail our Membership Chair, Joan Williams, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Payment: Payment of registration and event fees must be made within 30 days of the conference.
