Introducing
the featured speaker, David Masumoto, is Christopher Houston of

David "Mas" Masumoto, Author
David "Mas" Masumoto is an organic peach and grape farmer
and the author of Letters to the Valley, A Harvest of Memories.
His previous books include Four Seasons in Five Senses, Things
Worth Savoring, Harvest Son, Planting Roots in American Soil and
Epitaph For A Peach: Four Seasons on My Family Farm. Masumoto
is currently a columnist
for the Fresno Bee and has written for USA Today and Los
Angeles Times.
His other books include Silent Strength, Home Bound and Country
Voices, The Oral History of a Japanese American Family Farm Community.
He received the James Clavell Japanese American National Literacy Award
in 1986.
He has a Bachelor's degree in sociology from UC Berkeley and a Master's
degree in community development from UC Davis and he attended International
University in Tokyo, Japan. Masumoto and his wife, Marcy, have two
children and reside in a 90-year-old farmhouse just outside of Del
Rey, California. |
